Western Hunters Report In

Flying to Colorado today to hunt monster muleys in the high country with OutWest Guides in Marble. Opening day is Saturday, I couldn’t be more excited!  So I thought it would be cool to to post a few hunting reports from western states we received this week.

Craig Smith of Triple Three Outfitters in Wyoming said he had 6 bowhunters in camp for the first week of Antelope season and all scored on P&Y goats. He had two muley hunters who also shot nice bucks. Hard to bet those harvest stats. Craig also offers elk hunts, check out the link to his website for more info.

Chuck Paddock of Open Season TV provided this report: “Hey just got in from the mountains James & I killed a couple good bucks on film with Big Sandy Outfitting in Colorado Springs. I took my buck the first day at 50 yards he went down on film. It took an hour so we were thinking when James made it in from Montana a few hours later it would be a short trip but little did we know it was going to take 5 days to get it done but today on the last day James made a great shot on his buck today at 40 yards. This has been a great trip & will be a great show on the Pursuit Channel in 2011.”

Here’s a fairly decent cell phone picture of a monster muley taken in the Henry Mountains of Utah. If you’re a muley nut you know this is one of the top areas for giant bucks in the west. No details yet on the hunter, hopefully more to follow.
