Paxton Buck – Missouri Archery Hunt.

Another great buck – this time from Missouri.  With the exceptionally long G2 and G3 tines this is certainly a buck for the record books!

This story from the hunter that he sent to me in an email.

My name is Paxton Lovan and I’m from Rogersville, MO.  I recently went to hunt my father-in-laws farm in central Missouri with two of my hunting buddies, Matt Wade and Josh Barnum and was able to bag this nice ten point buck.  I hadn’t had the chance to do alot of scouting this season so I didn’t know what to expect for our hunting trip.  I had promised my buddies that the hunting was great and this trip was no exception.  We spotted about 10 different shooter bucks in three days and everybody had their chances for kills.  Matt had spotted this particular deer on Thursday morning and came into camp talking about this “big brushy river bottom buck”.  That same river bottom was where I caught him that night.  He was coming down a logging road when I shot him at 27 yards.  He only went about 30 yards before he went down from a double lung shot.  Only after he was on the ground did I realize how big he was.  It was my best bow kill to date.  He is a main frame ten pointer with three kickers, one on his right side G3 and two on his left side G3.  The buck isn’t real heavy or super wide, but is pretty tall. His G2’s and G3’s are pushing 14 inches and we guessed his field score around the 160 to 170 range, but don’t know for sure.  I can’t wait to get back in the woods to see if he has a brother out there somewhere.
