Michigan Hunter Strikes Again!

Some of you may remember earlier this season Pat Kleppert from Michigan scored on a great 140” nine pointer in his home state in late October. (see post: http://www.american-hunter.com/2009/10/31/michigan-py-buck) What you didn’t know is that he took that buck only one day before he left for Iowa. Pat had drawn one of Iowa’s coveted tags for archery deer season. After getting some stands prepared, and with some unusually warm weather, the hunting was fairly slow with few sightings of mature animals. On day three of the hunt Pat went to one of his stands along a pinch point next to a large creek. After what seemed like only a few minutes this big ten point buck showed up and Pat put a great shot on him at under fifteen yards. The buck tipped over just out of sight, and after a short tracking job Pat claimed a stud of an Iowa whitetail. Makes me wish it was time to apply today for next years Iowa tag!!!
