Ohio P&Y Buck

What a fun day hunting!  The prerut is underway here in Ohio and the chase is on. I saw 5 bucks this morning, 4 of which were chasing a doe all over a CRP field.  I rattled two of them to shooting distance of my stand but passed, they weren’t what I was looking for. This evening I hunted another farm where I had trail cam pictures from lots of different bucks. Again, I took along the rattling antlers and by 6pm I had a shooter buck headed my way. He got to 40 yards and I drew my Hoyt AlphaMax, one small grunt to stop him and whack, perfect heart shot. I watched him go down about 40 yards from where I shot him. Carbon Express Maxima arrows tipped with Slick Trick broadheads always put ’em down for me. No tracking required.  The buck is a mainframe 12 point with one broken G2 on the left side.
