Monster Buck for Grandson Brady

This is a great hunting report, you have to love seeing kids getting actively involved in the outdoors. Our sport needs lots of youngsters to carry on the great family tradition of deer hunting.  Brady’s Grandma Susie emailed the following story and pictures. Congrats to Brady and his Grandpa Tim on getting his first buck and it’s an Iowa giant!

10 year old, Brady Hartgrave and his Grandpa Tim Williams were hunting together on Sept 26 in Clayton County, Iowa during his first youth deer season, for the shot of a lifetime!  Grandpa was watching some does when Brady spotted a buck then Grandpa saw him, not wanting Brady to get over excited, he said don’t look at the antlers, look for the shot, and he nailed it with a CVA ACCURA .50 caliber muzzleloader from 100 yards…dropped it like a rock!   I almost forgot that they were elevated 23′ in a deer stand built by his Uncle Brad and Grandpa.

The monster 21 pt non-typical buck green scored 196 1/8 gross and 183 5/8 net. It will be a trophy and a great memory for Brady, when he and his Grandpa got the “big one!”

Hope you like the picture and the story of Brady’s first hunt!

Thanks proud Grandma Susie

Remember to send in your hunting report and pictures, we may publish it for you to share with your friends and family worldwide!
