Monster Bruins on the Cochrane River

ADAMS BEAR 2012It only takes a minute! That was the statement I kept repeating over and over in my head as I counted down the hours, then the minutes, as my 2013 bear hunt came to a close. I hunted hard all week and now I was down to the wire, sneaking in a last minute hunt on my last morning along the Cochrane River. The float plane was scheduled to pick us up at 1:00, and my guide told me he could give me till about noon on the bait, so instead of sitting around camp I took my last opportunity to climb in the stand and hope “Jaws” showed up for a morning snack. Just two days prior he had strolled into the bait at high noon and I was hoping for a repeat.
