Rocket Aeroheads Miniblaster 3 Broadhead Blades

Total score 18 with a blade sharpness rating of C

The Rocket miniblaster is a 3blade swing open style mechanical broadhead. The cutting diameter is 1 ¾” and the total weight of the head is 75 grains.

I found the accuracy to be excellent. The head shot and grouped just like a field point.

In the Plywood test it penetrated about half way stopping at the front of the blades. One blade was broken off. In the Steel drum the miniblaster penetrated the first side, but pretty much fell apart. The ferule broke into several pieces and two of the three blades broke off. In the Orange the head fully opened by the time it exited the back.

Overall I feel the Rocket miniblaster is a decent broadhead. It is not the most durable, but it should be plenty strong for deer, and it has a pretty large cutting diameter. As with all rocket mechanicals the blade sharpness could and should be better, but for someone looking for a 75grain head with a larger cutting diameter this would be one to take a look at.

Please note as more test information becomes available, it will be updated and posted.  Make sure you check back periodically to see if the head you're curious about shows up on the measuring tape.  If you’re interested in donating a head for testing, email ckfitch3@aol.com or visit Huntingforums.com, Bows and Arrows forum and see 5shot.  Thank you and enjoy.  Return to the Main BroadHead Test Page.
