Pete Alfano of Whitetail Properties shot this unique 185″ muley in Garden county Nebraska during the 2012 rifle season. He was shooting his T/C 308. loaded with Winchester bullets, and topped off with a Brunton Scope. Check out his report from the field below. Congrats Pete!

I had an opportunity to hunt a great area that was known for holding some great whitetail and Muley bucks. A fire this summer had burnt off quite a bit of the ranch and with the dry conditions the deer were really concentrated on any food source you could find. I located a pivot that had some old Alfalfa planting in it but was still green, basically stubble but sat down in a valley surrounded by all the ground that had burnt off. The deer were really concentrated on the pivot and were bedding around an old homestead and some cotton woods. After glassing this buck for two days I knew I had a great chance to harvest him, I just needed to wait on the right winds. He was a big main frame 5 x 5 with some extra points.
