As of this posting this is the biggest known typical from the 2007 Kentucky Deer Season.
This buck is very impressive in several different aspects, fist it comes from a county in Eastern Kentucky where there have only been two other typicals entered into the Boone & Crockett book. This will make the third typical [...]

I originally posted this story back in 2000 – it is still one of my all-time favorite bucks – it has the mass, spread and length that every trophy hunter looks for.
This buck also made the Cover of North American Whitetail. Congrats again to the deer hunter, Matt Miller.

The Exceptional Swamp King – by Tim Herald
I don’t know what makes turkeys gobble one day but not the next. Obviously the stage of mating, the weather, barometric pressure, etc. all have something to do with how much turkeys gobble, but from one seemingly identical day to the next there can be unexplainable differences in [...]

Unfortunately this buck was found dead in 2006, the green score on it was 197″. Looks like it is a basic 5 x 5 rack with some extra tines that total 17 scorable points in all.

As far as hunting goes, I will say that you [...]
