2) Estimated Whitetail Population 1.4 million plus
3) Harvest total for 2006 324,425
4) Harvest total for 2007 300,915
5) Percentage harvested by Modern Firearms / Archery Gear for 2007
13% taken during the archery season; 87% during firearms; some are taken with archery equipment during the firearms season but I do not know how many.
6) County with the highest harvest totals in 2007 Callaway County
With an estimated herd of 1.4 Million, a deer hunter success rate of 87% and Missouri’s reputation for big Boone & Crockett Bucks should make this state a top destination spot for any traveling deer hunter.
